Making the call - I predict Trump will be the next US President.

So for those of you who have read my series, The Fall of Man , you'll know that I find geopolitics of interest. I haven't been blogging on the topic mind you, as I've been busy with book stuff, but I figured I'd make a post tonight. The big question is who is it going to be this year? Trump or Hillary? Who will bring it home? After seeing the debates in both parties, seeing both conventions and seeing the narratives that have bounced around in the media over the past year, I'm certain that Trump will win the Presidency. Now, I know some will think that's a crazy prediction. After all, right now it's basically a 50/50 toss-up in the polls. But that only bolsters my prediction. I mean, how in the world are the Democrats either losing or tied with Trump in the polls? Let's put that aside though, as well as about 50 other variables that will ultimately favor trump. Instead, let's focus in on just the core ones. The following reasons (albeit n

Advice for Self-Publishers on Twitter: Don't follow if you're going to unfollow

So I was checking out my Twitter account today and found it odd that my ratio of followers to following seemed out of wack. Sure enough, a number of other authors who had signed up to follow me, had since removed their follow after I reciprocated and followed them. For those on Twitter, the simple way of checking who is following you is to actually click on your own "following" tab. This will give you a list of the people you are following. Then, beside their name, it will say "Follows you". If they are no longer following you, it will say nothing. So once a month you should take a look through your following list and turf the people who only followed you to get their own twitter follow account numbers up. It's a skeezy thing to do and you don't want to be supporting those folks by helping them build a presence on Twitter. Or go one step further like I do and simply block them. :)  I'm not sure what Twitter's policies are, but maybe with en

Get on board The Fall of Man trilogy for FREE over the next three days (July 25-27)

From July 25 - 27 I'm running a sale on Amazon where the first book, The Fall of Man: Days of Judgment , will be free! For those who have been thinking about jumping into the series, now's your chance to do so for free! Enjoy! =)

My surprise of the day ... people love box sets!

So I'm ramping up to do outreach (ie. marketing) regarding my The Fall of Man trilogy after recently releasing The Fall of Man: A Fool's Requiem . I haven't done any outreach yet and so not surprisingly I've had only a few sales. But what has really surprised me is people seem to really like box sets. I've made reference to the three individual books in the series on places like my blog, so I wasn't surprised that a couple of people bought A Fool's Requiem. But I've made no mention of the box set The Fall of Man: The Complete Series and yet it was purchased in Germany and for some unknown reason a bunch of people are reading it on kindle unlimited.  So in essence, the offering (ie. the box set) that I've literally done nothing for is selling better than the individual books that I've done something (albeit very little) for. Moreover, I didn't put nearly as much effort into the cover of the box set as for the individual books. B

Kickass Torrents shut down, owner arrested....US, Poland, Ukraine, Apple and Facebook in the mix (my thoughts)

So for those following trends in globalization you are probably aware of the TPP and TTIP  and the attempts to create a global legal system that supersedes any sovereign legal authority. This trend makes today's news that bit torrent site Kickass Torrents has been shut down all the more interesting. The US government, with the assistance of Poland, Apple and Facebook arrested Artem Vaulin, a 30-year-old from Ukraine who apparently operated the Kickass Torrents site (which ranks as the 70th most visited site on the Internet). The irony? Apparently, Artem was buying things on iTunes and it was part of how they tracked down his identity. They used Facebook to capture his IP address then iTunes to link the IP address to his real life identity. So the world's biggest "pirate" essentially got caught because he was legally purchasing content. As many know, The Pirate Bay was wiped from the Internet in 2014, although has come back to life since then, albeit as a sh
