(Must Watch) Ron Paul's Farewell Speech

If you ever wondered what it would be like to hear a politician speak the plain truth, you've got to watch Ron Paul's farewell speech that he gave this week.

Now in his late 70s, Ron Paul won't be returning to congress next year.

Infamously known as Dr. No (for voting against spending increases) and for inspiring (the start of) a Libertarian revolution during the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections, whether you agree or disagree with him, he's one of the few politicians who tells it like it is (and hence why neither party, Republican or Democrat, have ever embraced him... he's always been a thorn in their side).

In an era of carefully tailored PR talking points designed to address the various cares of special interest groups, Ron Paul speaks to the masses as a whole. He doesn't tell them what they want to hear, he simply tells them the truth.

His final speech is something worth saving and re-visiting as we watch the world unfold around us in the years to come, as it offers a clear and poignant perspective on why things are transpiring as they are.

E-cigarettes: A PR battle Health Canada cannot win?

So I've now been using an e-cigarette (e-cig) for two months and thought I'd talk a bit about how I see the upcoming battle between Health Canada and e-cigs going. First though, let's do a quick overview of what exactly an e-cig is. Basically an e-cig vaporizes liquid that contains nicotine. The vapor is then inhaled. People who use e-cigs are called vapers (not smokers). Because the liquid is atomized (ie. vaporized), not burned the way tobacco is, vapers do not consider themselves 'smokers' in anyway. An e-cig is comprised of basically three components: The tank - this is the component that holds the juice (sometimes referred to as e-juice or e-liquid). The atomizer - this a coil and wick unit that atomizes the juice. When the coil is heated (from the battery) it atomizes the juice that has soaked into the wick.
