So Vancouver has launched a site - This is our Vancouver - to bolster its brand in the wake of the riots.
I applaud the effort, but I have to say, the site looks bad. I mean, it's a mish-mash of various images and confusing text that makes you want to leave the site as fast as you can.
The idea itself is fantastic and the PR/marketing person who came up with it should be applauded. Where it falls on its face is in the Web design. Which reinforces something I've said over and over, good Web and graphics people are worth their weight in gold.
Look and Feel matter. When you mess them up, it doesn't matter how good your concept was or even your content, people will simply not engage.
